For this CCE Reading Group we will be readings a selection from The Right to Maim (2017) by Jasbir K. Puar which explores the impacts of the liberal state, sexuality, and biopolitics on our understanding of disability. We will pair this reading with an additional article in The New Inquirer titled “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot!” Jasbir K. Puar is Professor and Graduate Director of Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University.
